Mission

For nearly two decades I have enjoyed the many followers who have benefited from my guidance and encouragement in their Yard and Garden, Patio Living, and Outdoor Cooking. Visitors to this site will discover my efforts to continually make the knowledge in these areas INTERESTING, INFORMATIVE and REWARDING . . . and most important of all . . . QUICK and EASY!

I publish with the novice gardener, and/or first-time homeowner as my target audience. From young adults just starting out to baby boomers now finding time enough to explore the many wonders of flowers, plants, fruits, and vegetables they will have successfully grown for themselves and their families. Plus, introductions to my backyard BBQing and Smoker/ Grill experiences and recommendations.

My assumption remains that my followers have limited, to no knowledge of gardening; or the elementary science that explains how things work in their garden, and what they need to do to be more satisfied with their outcomes. And, if they have barbequed, it's likely they have gathered around a charcoal grill for some hamburgers or hotdogs; and they're looking to take their outdoor cooking to another level.

For this reason, I will endeavor to keep things simple, as brief as possible and clearly understandable. Wherever possible, I will direct followers to:

My extended exploration of garden,

patio, and outdoor cooking experiences.

Sources I respect. that underscore

my explanations and suggestions.

You will find my works to be derived from personal experiences, nursery professionals with whom I have collaborated, and a thorough knowledge of the Backyard Pit Master experience. And, for those points not directly from my own experience . . . validation from at least two separate sources for which I have respect, and confidence in their thoroughness and accuracy.

All of this is combined to encourage you to "give it a try, and don't be afraid to fail". Always have faith that with basic knowledge and clear understanding, you can work with nature to bring beauty and bounty into your yard and garden. . . and find new fun and fulfillment on your patio and in your outdoor cooking.
